Carlos is also a Certified Instructor for Dexterity CE and he obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with majors in Finance, Real Estate & Insurance from California State University, Northridge. (CSUN)
Carlos continued his emphasis on studying Real Estate and was awarded the California Dept. of Real Estate Salesperson License in 2003 and the Calif. Dept. of Real Estate Broker License in 2007.
Prior to obtaining his Business and Real Estate degrees, Carlos served in the U.S. Air Force as a Law Enforcement Police Officer. He was awarded multiple medals including the Air Force Commendation Medal prior to being Honorably Discharged as a Non-Commission Officer.
His professional sales experience includes working domestically and internationally for Fortune 500 companies in the Banking, Real Estate, Mortgage Lending (Traditional and Reverse loans), Software, and Technology industries.
For over 20 years, Carlos has served customers in Southern California with primary emphasis in Ventura, Los Angeles, & Santa Barbara Counties, and for the past 15 years, he has specialized in educating older homeowners, their families, advocates, and trusted advisors about the Pros & Cons and Strategic uses of Reverse Mortgages for Retirement Planning.
The Reverse Mortgage backstory for Carlos began in 2007 when a family member asked about Reverse Mortgages and whether it would be a good thing for their family. There was initial skepticism about the program, but after researching the programs Carlos not only recommended it but was hired by Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. Carlos has become an advocate and expert for Reverse Mortgages and has been a sought-after speaker for National Conferences including the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association. He has also been a Speaker for the Camarillo Healthcare District, Cabrillo Economic Development Corp., Ventura County Adult Protective Services, and the Ventura County Coastal Association of Realtors.
Carlos believes it is his mission to help educate, inform, and empower seniors, their advocates, and trusted advisors about today’s Reverse Mortgage programs with the goal of helping people better understand the power and value of Home Equity & Housing Wealth and how it can enhance Retirement Success Rates in Ventura, Los Angeles, and Santa Barbara Counties as well as throughout California & the United States.
Carlos has been married to his wife, Tracy, for 25 years. They were Foster Parents in Ventura County for 9 years and have been able to Adopt 3 of their 4 girls.
