About Me

Why'd I switch from financial planner to "just" a loan officer? Throughout my career, retiree Mortgage/Home Equity conversations around me often weren't going deep enough leaving clients underserved on a topic critical to THEM. Even when they did, finding a trusted Loan Officer to work with wasn't easy. I want to be part of the solution, so I'm here to serve client's residential home loan needs through all phases of life.

Prior to my current dual-channel Loan Officer role where I help clients with traditional forward mortgages and eligible borrower's reverse mortgage needs, I was an Advisor in the HNW and holistic Financial Planning space in various licensed roles for the better part of 20 years bringing a daily passion for advisor development and high quality client outcomes. This extensive background working with a full spectrum of Senior-related topics (including Long-Term Care funding, Annuities, Medicare solutions, Estate Planning, Legacy planning, Retirement Income planning) led me down a years-long path to discover how misunderstood and underutilized the Reverse Mortgage(HECM)/Reverse Line of Credit is, often leading to less than optimal outcomes for people who sacrificed their whole life to get to the point of eligibility. Often simply due to a knowledge gap of the myriad of applications by Advisors and Baby-boomer Clients alike or due to outdated myths/mistruths which have created unfair stigmas hampering the use of this incredibly flexible government-insured loan program designed specifically for Senior homeowners to access existing home equity safely.

Throughout my career a fiduciary standard, ethics, empathy, an insatiable quest for learning, and integrity have been the foundation of my success.  Education, mutual respect and clear, direct communication are the foundation for the best client relationships.

I served honorably for over 7 years (stop-loss) as a non-commissioned officer and paratrooper in the Army Reserve as a Psychological Operations team chief (Airborne) which included a 1-year deployment in Iraq from 4/2003-3/2004. Awards included: Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, and Combat Action Badge, among others. That experience taught me to live for no wasted days; a principle I often touted to past clients encouraging them to live fully through the “go-go”, “slow-go”, and even the “no-go” years of “retirement”!

Formal education includes a Finance degree from The Ohio State University, MBA from Arizona State University, and Linguistics at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA.  In spare time I enjoy spending time with my 9 year old son, coaching youth sports, volunteering with Veterans groups, road trips (checking off National Parks), working on our classic car, and open water swimming.
